Objectives: By the end of the lesson, students can: • Use the lexical items related to the topic ‘Television’ • Ask and talk about a favorite TV programme • Read a TV schedule and descriptions of famous children’s programmes B. Procedures: I. Warm-up: Brainstorm - Write the famous programmes for children “ Biet tai ti hon” The famous programmes for children - Ss write on the board -T gives Ss some channels 1-HBO Movies of all types 2- DISCOVERY CHANNEL Documentaries offering insights into the inner workings of the world 3-VTV3 Entertaining programs 4-VTV2 Scientific and educational programs 5-CNN News 6- DISNEY CHANNEL Movies and programs for children 7- CARTOON NETWORK Cartoons for children II. Communication * Extra Vocabulary - entertain (v.): /en.tə’teɪn/ (explanation) to keep a group of people interested or enjoying themselves

Finland 6. Britain Activity 2. • We have just known some interesting facts about TV programs • Now, let’s see how you think personally about TV. Give your opinions in groups of 4, discuss with your partners in group then tell us what you think * Do you agree with following statements Yes, I do/ No, I don’t * How much do you know? Activity 3. a. Read about two famous TV programmes for children. -Ask SS to read the reading carefully - Let them to use it as a model for their talk about their favorite programme later. - ask them if they want to change any of their previous answers in b, Tick the correct programme - Runthrough the sentences in the facts - Ask SS to reads the again then tick the correct programme - explains the relationship between education and educational; small children and Kids 1- both programmes 2- programme Let’s learn 3- programme Hello Fatty 4- programme Let’s learn 5- programme Hello Fatty 6- programme Let’s learn Activity 4.: * Work in groups - Read about the two programmes again. Tell your group which one you prefer and why?
3. -Ask SS to work in group of four. They read the two programmes again then tell which one they prefer and why . - then ask SS to speak in front of the class V. Homework: - Write a paragraph to describe a programe which you prefer and why( in your notebook.) - Prepare next lesson :(Skill 1) Period 5/59 Unit 7: TELEVISION Lesson 5: Skills 1 A. Objectives: By the end of the lesson, students can: • Use the lexical items related to the topic ‘Television’ • Read for specific information about Television • Speak about one’s favorite TV program, the reasons for that B. Procedures: * Warm up: Chatting - Talk about the name of favorite TV channels and the reasons for that I.Reading 1. Read the schedule for around the World : - Have Ss read the schedule. - compete (v): /kəm’pi:t/ (visual) - jungle (n): (visual) /’ dʒʌŋ.ɡl / 2 -Answer the questions - Have Ss read the schedule quickly again . - Then ask them to work in pair to ask and answer the questions. - Give the meaning of the words, explanations and examples (Vietnamese equivalent) 1- Wheelbarrow Races 2- The Parrot instructor 3- Yes, we can. 4- A documentary about the colourful living world in the Pacific. 5- No, it isn’t. 3- Choose the best programme for each person. - SS work individually -Ask Ss to reread the text as well as the information about the people below so as to choose the best programme for each -Ss can compare answers before discussing them as a class.

And divide Ss into groups of six -Then allows Ss 3 minutes to choose the programme they prefer and prepare for their speaking (they should explain why they like it.) - Get feedback and the group leaders can tell about their most favorite TV programmes - T write the name of the programme on the board as well as the number of SS who like them 4. Tell your group about your favourite TV programme. Your talk should include the following information. C. Homework: -Read the schedule and answer the questions in “Read”. - Build project about “ How important is TV to you” - Prepare for skills 2.
